A thought before Yom Kippur
Every year, when Yom Kippur approaches, i feel like i am about to take up the challenge of the year; and every year, the night after Yom Kippur, i say to myself: "I did it!" and i feel as if i ran a marathon and got in the first ten :)
While i was taking out the garbage (tonight is garbage night by us), i realized that that's actually what we do Erev Yom Kippur, we cleanse ourselves from all the "garbage" that we accumulated throughout the year, we ask forgiveness to everybody, and we do Kapparot to expiate our sins.
...but what happens after Yom Kippur is over? We start accumulate garbage again, we go back to our bad habits, to gossiping, to our weaknesses, etc.
So this year i wish myself and everybody else to be able to accumulate less garbage for next Yom Kippur!
Love!
