Honey Cake...with a twist!
It's that time of the year again!
Tomorrow morning we will be offering each other honey cake, wishing a sweet year and getting ready for THE fast, Yom Kippur...
Every year i experiment with my honey cake, mostly because i don't like the taste of the traditional ones, way too rich for me.
This year i toasted hazelnuts and pecans and then powdered them with the mixer, together with cinnamon and sugar.
Here is the recipe:
2 cups nuts
5 eggs
2 cups sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
3/4 cup canola oil
3/4 cup orange juice
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 1/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
Bake at 350 F until light brown on top.
Enjoy!
