It was a great First of May!
Yesterday we went with the kids and some family friends to a train station in the middle of the forest, where a real train (each wagon is from a different epoch, all equally interesting) takes to a tour of this beautiful landscape, with trees, old houses and stores and volunteers that show the kids how to make a wooden toy or how to build a wheel...after the train ride, we walked through the forest, and the kids got some vintage looking rock candy lollipops (thank G-d for the omnipresent OU symbol) .
We took quite a few pictures, then we headed to Lakewood for food shopping, and i finally found a good sharp knife! It makes life so much simpler to have a good knife!!!
Anyway, around 10pm Alec's mother told me that President Obama would be delivering some breaking news soon on tv, so my heart started to pound: what could it be?
Well, we sat down and waited for the good news: Osama Bin Laden had been finally killed in Pakistan by order of the President himself, in a courageous act that left no American wounded.
The news bounced around the world very quickly, and i was sitting there, looking at Bin Laden's videos shown on tv and thinking that this guy looked really crazy. He did a lot of evil stuff, and now he is gone. Will this be the end of terrorism? For sure not. Bit i believe that you can't let go, you have to show that terrorism will never be accepted as the normal way to "conduct business", there has to be a continuous fight against these crooks.
And to all the people on Facebook or not that speculate and love conspiracy theories, i really don't think that President Obama waited the beginning of the reelection campaign to kill Bin Laden. Come on, guys give me a break...
