Maltz Jewish Museum of Cleveland

Last Sunday we went to the Maltz Jewish Museum: they had organized a sort of Jewish festival, and the entrance was free... It was my first time there, and although there are some remarkable Jewish artifacts from all over the world, my favorite section is the one about the Jewish life in Cleveland, from the first settlers to modern times: pictures, old objects, vintage clothes...i took pictures of a man's wedding vest, or a woman's head covering, and of a page of the diaries written by one of the jewish settlers, written in Yiddish. Another interesting thing to note is that on a wall there were several pictures or souvenirs from the resort places where Jews would go on vacation before World War II, and i found two places that i know and love: Hotel Quisisana of Capri and Hotel S. Lucia of Napoli...how many kosher meals we catered for Jewish tourists that were there on vacation...i guess they were just as popular then as they are now :)
