Shavua Tov! And a couple of thoughts...

Today I was discussing with Alec about this week's Parasha (the portion of the Torah that we read every week), and i realized that too often we try to make our Forefathers "look like us", meaning, we try to apply to their actions the same frame of thought that we would have in a given situation...and, well, that's a huge mistake, because doing that we belittle them in two ways: first of all, they don't need the "justifications" that we fabricate for their actions, and then...if we keep on thinking about them as if they were us, we sin of hybris...i mean, G-d spoke to them directly, i WISH i really was like them!!

Second thought of the evening: after all the garbage that i have been reading tonight in the news about the fact that the Church now feel empowered to dictate what Jews have to do in Israel, i felt like i had the moral obligation to post on Facebook a short historical presentation of the origin and development of the State of Israel, from a strictly political point of view...and i am going to post it here too...
